Learn to make replica Native American stone tools with Larry Beane.

Larry Beane

Participants will learn about Native American stone tool making with Larry Beane. Larry is an archaeologist and is retired from the National Park Service. He has over 40 years of experience teaching flint knapping at workshops all over the southeastern United States. He is also an avid supporter and volunteer for the Exploring Joara Foundation.

What: Learn about Native American tools and basic flint knapping techniques. Make your own pieces.

When: Saturdays, September 14 & 21

Where: EJF Living History Village, Catawba Meadows Park, Morganton.

How Much: $85 per person (EJF Members) OR $95.00 per person (Non-Members). This fee includes a flint knapping kit valued at $31.50 which will be provided to all participants.

How Many: 13 Participants Max- Must be 16 years or older, or 14-15 with a parent or guardian.

All participants must sign a waiver of liability and assumption of risk prior to the workshop.

Please bring your own lunch and beverages for the day.

Visitors are welcome to observe.
